Moto G (2016) will be offered in two screen sizes
Moto G was the most successful and highest-selling smartphone in Motorola's history. Last year, Motorola sold more than five million Moto G (third-generation) in India. For those of us not in the know, in October 2014, Lenovo acquired Motorola from Google for 2.9 billion USD.
According to Lenovo, the next generation Moto G will be announced this year following the huge success of its big brothers. Sources say that the new Moto G will offer two screen sizes, with a larger "Plus" model. Tech experts say that the larger "Plus" model aims to compete directly with Samsung Galaxy Note 6 this year.
According to sources, Lenovo will launch a regular-sized Moto G, and this model will remove the fingerprint sensor found on the larger "Plus" model. Last year, PhoneDog posted a photo of what it claimed to be Moto X 2016 and Moto G 2016 with a square-shaped button.
The next generation Moto G is expected to be announced in June 2016 at a launch event. The first generation Moto G was introduced on 13 November 2013. The device became Motorola's best-selling smartphone ever, and was the top selling phone in Mexico and Brazil six months after launch.
