Pebble announces two new smartwatches: the Pebble 2 and Pebble Time 2
Pebble today announced two new smartwatches including the Pebble 2 and Pebble Time 2. According to Pebble, the company's new smartwatches will focus on fitness with brand new design. The Pebble 2 and Pebble Time 2 are expected to take on HTC UA HealthBox this year. Last year, Pebble sold more than 10 million Pebble Time and Time Steel units.
The Pebble 2 is seen as an upgrade to the Pebble Classic, released in 2013. The Pebble 2 sports a modern look with a rectangular body and a Gorilla Glass “anti-scratch lens coating” display.
One of the selling points of the new device is its built-in heart rate monitor at the back side of the wearable device which helps you keep track of your resting and active heart rate. Besides, the new Pebble 2 comes with waterproofing feature that allows it to survive 30 m under water, and it also features a built-in microphone for voice replies and a huge battery that lasts up to 7 days on a single charge. The Pebble is priced at 129 USD.
The Pebble Time 2, on the other hand, is made of stainless steel and will be available in Black, Silver and Gold. Like its previous models, the Pebble Time 2 features a color e-paper display. Besides, the new device comes with a heart rate monitor, a waterproofing feature and a battery which lasts up to 10 days.
