According to rumors, Sony will launch two major smartphones in 2016. These devices will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820. Previously, rumors claimed that Sony may launch Z6 Plus and Z6 Ultra at CES 2016

Rumors were making sound that Sony might be planning to launch an Xperia Z6 Compact, Z6 Plus and Z6 Ultra in 2016

However, according to PhoneDog, the Japanese smartphone maker will focus on two major smartphones in 2016,  both powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820, and their releases could be somewhere in June and October, respectively. Besides, these devices are rumored to come with metallic frames. In addition, sources say that there will be no Sony - branded smartphones with QHD display in 2016 as previously rumored.

Experts say that we have seen a change in Sony's new product release cycle. The Japanese smartphone maker released Z4 and Z3 + in July, Z4 was replaced by the Z5, Z5 Compact and Z5 Premium just three months later. According to the industry watchers, a new release cycle will reduce Sony's smartphone sales in the international market. Sony is believed to unveil its new devices at CES 2016.
