Xiaomi shows an impressive growth in wearable device sales in Q3 2015

According to a recent report, Fitbit was the world's largest wearable manufacturer in the third quarter of 2015, with an estimated shipping total of 4.7 million units, followed by Apple with 3.9 million units.

According to the latest report, a total of 21 million wearable devices have been shipped in the third quarter of 2015, which saw a 197.6% increase compared to the same period last year. The report indicates that Fitbit remained its number one position as the world's largest wearable manufacturer.

Specifically, Fitbit sold 4.7 million wearable devices, more than doubling the 2.3 million units in the third quarter of 2014. IDC says that we have seen a shift in Fitbit's business, the company's products are targeting enterprise users. During the third quarter, Target has ordered 335,000 fitness trackers for its employees, and other corporations such as Time Warner, Bank of America made similar orders in the past.



The report also says that Apple remained its numer two postion in the rankings, with 3.9 million units sold in the third quarter. The research market firm claims that Apple's growth in wearable device sales was due to the introduction of the Apple Watch across multiple markets and retail channels. 

Xiaomi ranked the third in the list  with an estimated shipping total of 3.7 million units, a 815% increase compared to the same period last year.Interestingly, 97% of these units have been shipped in China, one of the company's major market. Xiaomi is expected to expand its presence in Western markets.
